“.. encantadora que saiu de Los Angeles e se apaixonou pelo Brasil. Através de um pot-pourri urbano de misturas entre culturas, ela traduz como ninguém uma música quente e intimista, cativante e única! Um jazz tão gostoso de ouvir... ”
— Ronnie Von
Alissa Sanders has been traversing the globe and using her voice to blend musical traditions, culture, and spirituality for two decades.
Her sound is a multilingual mixture of Jazz and Brazilian music, an intimate, colorful, soft, and enchanting fusion of American Jazz and Brazilian standards with rhythm and stylings from both countries
Alissa has performed in Jazz festivals and Brazilian Carnaval, on television in both Brazil and the US (NBC’s Carson Daly Show), at events and shows in Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Addis Ababa, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Salvador, Brazil. She also shared the stage at South by Southwest with the band Maximum Hedrum.
Collaboration and experimentation drive Alissa. To expand her passion for blending musical traditions, she is collaborating with musicians around the world in a search for sound and artistic identity. Her new show “Playlist” transports contemporary songs into the language and structure of jazz with a rotating lineup of international musicians who each add colors, textures, and instruments from their traditions to create original arrangements and interpretations of Alissa’s ‘playlist.’
Alissa’s first album, “Beginning,” was released in 2012.
